The United States Supreme Court may bring some dignity and legitimacy to the election madhouse this week, but the proceedings in Florida have been, for the most part, a swamp. For all the heavy breathing on the talk shows, the endless election has not been a grand contest of famous legal gladiators contesting broad constitutional principles. The Battle of Florida has been, in a profound sense, a local fight, a highly personal shoving match driven by old grudges and vendettas....

To its credit, “Seussical” does an admirable job of weaving together many of the good doctor’s books in a way that’s true to Seuss without being held captive by him. The main characters are Horton the egg-hatching elephant (Kevin Chamberlin), vain Gertrude McFuzz (Janine LaManna) and JoJo (Anthony Blair Hall), the tyke who saves Whoville by yelling “Yopp!” Their original stories are all there. But they bend and fold into each other–Yertle the Turtle presiding over Horton’s insanity trial?...

Authorities received a report that a group of motorcyclists was “acting unruly” while pointing guns at people near Orlando, Florida, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement to Newsweek Monday morning. The authorities tried to pull over one of the suspects, but he allegedly fled, according to the statement. Law enforcement later found out that the suspect—identified as 26-year-old John Beretta—stopped at a Wawa gas station along Central Florida Parkway to fill up his motorcycle, local news station WKMG-TV reported....
