Anyone who tuned into Late Night With Seth Meyers on March 3, 2020 will have gotten a chuckle out of a segment called “old video games.” Consoles like the PS4 may have billions of game sales but in this segment, Seth told viewers about gaming back in the day when he used to play games on a console called the “Jorbus.” The Jorbus had all of the best games of the time and Seth selected a few, sharing their gameplay and box art.

One of these games is the arcade ice skating game Tonya Harding Skating. In Tonya Harding Skating, players must try to avoid the skater’s goons as they perform on the ice, ducking and triple axelling their way out of danger. There’s also a boss battle the end where Tonya Harding comes at players with a crowbar. It may not have the real Tonya Harding or Birds of Prey star Margot Robbie, who played the skater in the biopic I, Tonya, but this fake game does look like it could be fun.
There’s also Chernobyl: The Game where a Soviet official has to eat documents about the Chernobyl nuclear disaster like some sort of government cover-up version of Pac-Man. Another game is Fitted Sheet: The Game, which really manages to show the incredible difficulty of trying to get a fitted sheet onto a mattress without the corners popping off. There have been some very strange sim games such as Goat Simulator and Fitted Sheet: The Game would probably become popular if it was real.
The last two games are GoodFellas: The Game and Bobby Knight Basketball. In GoodFellas: The Game, players are Henry Hill trying to escape from a restaurant when his wife sees him. GoodFellas actor Ray Liotta has been in a video game and he played a Grand Theft Auto protagonist. If he hadn’t been in GTA and this was a real game, then Liotta could have potentially been in it. In Bobby Knight Basketball, players are angry basketball coach Bobby Knight, throwing chairs at police officers, players, and Saddam Hussein. It’s unlikely that NBA 2K would add gameplay like this, but some fans would probably enjoy it.
Other late night talk show hosts have found huge success by talking about video games. Hideo Kojima also put Conan O’Brien in Death Stranding and his Clueless Gamer segment was turned into its own TV show. It’s unclear if that will happen with old video games, but many viewers of the Seth Meyers show would like to see it again.
