The official Shadow of the Tomb Raider trailer contains all the scenes revealed in the teaser trailer, and seems to elaborate on what we have already seen. The official Shadow of the Tomb Raider trailer shows various indications of a Mayan landscape, which is not a surprise since Square Enix has already revealed that Lara will be preventing a Maya apocalypse in the new game. The trailer also features a masked villain, who might be indicative of the main antagonist to Lara Croft in the game.
The trailer does not show the gameplay of Shadow of the Tomb Raider though, but it does reveal that Lara Croft will continue to fight with a bow and arrow, guns, and what seems to be a combat knife, which is a new addition to Lara’s arsenal. The trailer also does not show what fans can expect from tombs in the game, but based on the grand locations teased in the video, the tombs are sure to be impressive.
From this trailer, we can assume that Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be similar in gameplay to the previous two Tomb Raider games released in 2013 and 2015, but hopefully with even more improvements.
We are excited to learn more about Shadow of the Tomb Raider in the full game reveal by Square Enix, but judging from material released of the game so far, the game looks very promising for old and new Tomb Raider fans.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on September 14th of this year.
